Overview
BAOFENG built this Pro handheld as an upgraded handheld for wet outdoor conditions, with three power levels, dual display and cross band dual watch. A large battery charges directly by USB-C or in the desktop cradle.
USB-C charging and weather resistance make it practical for camping trips. The brand's own range figures fall from open ground to forest to city, so plan accordingly.
Who it's for
Outdoor groups needing reliable short-range comms suit this radio. Users needing dependable long-distance contact should consider repeaters.
Pros and cons
- USB-C direct charging
- Desktop charger included
- Three power levels
- Range drops in trees and cities
- No warranty listed
- Licensing not covered
Performance notes
Range depends on power setting, antenna and line of sight; open ground carries furthest. Lower power extends battery life. Splash sealing handles rain and dust, not submersion.
