Overview

A freeze-dried raw beef meal from Get Joy meant to be used as a meal, mixer, topper or training treat for dogs of any breed or age. It is grain free, made with what the brand calls 100 percent USDA organ meat, and includes a prebiotic, probiotic and postbiotic blend.

Freeze-dried raw toppers are typically used to add protein and palatability to an existing kibble diet rather than as a dog's sole food, though this one is also positioned as a standalone complete and balanced meal. The pasture-raised, no-added-hormone sourcing claims come directly from the manufacturer's attribute listing.

Doubles as meal, mixer, topper or treat
For all breeds and life stages

Who it's for

Owners looking to boost a kibble diet with a raw, high-protein topper, or who want a grain-free freeze-dried option flexible enough to serve as a meal, mixer or training treat. Less useful for owners already feeding a complete raw diet who do not need an added topper.

Pros and cons

Pros

Multi-use as meal, mixer, topper or training treat
Grain free with a probiotic, prebiotic and postbiotic blend
No added hormones, pasture-raised sourcing claimed

Cons

No protein percentage or feeding chart in this data
32 oz bag is a smaller size for daily feeding use

Performance notes

Freeze-drying preserves more of the raw beef's nutrients than cooking or extrusion, and the pellet-shaped pieces are sized to be broken up as a topper or fed whole as a training treat. The probiotic and prebiotic blend targets digestive support, though the listing does not cite a specific strain or count.
