Overview
Nature's Recipe dry dog food blending chicken, barley and brown rice kibble with freeze-dried chicken bites, in a 10.5 lb bag for dogs at any life stage. Made by Post Consumer Brands, model 83437, with no artificial colors or flavors.
The freeze-dried chicken bites set this apart from a standard kibble bag, adding a meaty topping without switching to a fully freeze-dried format. It is labeled a limited ingredient diet and lists chicken and chicken meal as the main proteins, with barley and oat flagged as allergens for dogs that need to avoid grains.
- 10.5 lb bag, 168 oz total
- Chicken and chicken meal as named proteins
- Limited ingredient diet type
- Omega-6 fatty acids for skin and coat
Who it's for
Suits owners feeding an all-breed, all-life-stage dog who wants a grain-inclusive kibble with some freeze-dried protein mixed in rather than plain pellets. Not a fit for dogs on a strict grain-free diet, since barley and oat are both present.
Pros and cons
- Freeze-dried chicken bites add real meat pieces to kibble
- No artificial colors or flavors
- Formulated for all life stages and all breed sizes
- Contains barley and oat, not suited to grain-free diets
- No wet or canned alternative in this listing
Performance notes
The blend pairs chicken and chicken meal as protein sources with barley and brown rice for carbohydrates, and is fortified with omega-6 fatty acids aimed at skin and coat condition. Post Consumer Brands positions it as an everyday feed rather than a therapeutic diet, sized as a 10.5 lb (168 oz) bag.
