Overview
The Yeahmart HF021 is a retractable landing net with an aluminum frame and a fixed handle. The hoop measures 14.2 inches (36 cm) across, and the whole unit weighs about a quarter kilogram, so it packs light for a tackle bag or kayak hatch.
Retractable nets trade a bit of reach for storage space, collapsing down to fit where a fixed-pole net would not. This one keeps the handle fixed while the shaft telescopes, which is a simpler mechanism than fully collapsible frame-and-handle designs. Aluminum keeps the frame light without adding much bulk.
- Aluminum frame construction
- 14.2 inch (36 cm) hoop
- Retractable, collapsible design
- Weighs about 0.25 kg
Who it's for
Anglers fishing from a kayak, small boat, or bank spot where a full-length landing net will not fit are the obvious fit here. It suits panfish, trout, and similarly sized catches better than it suits anyone chasing large gamefish that need a deep, wide hoop.
Pros and cons
- Lightweight aluminum frame
- Retractable shaft collapses for storage
- Fixed handle keeps grip consistent
- 14.2 inch hoop is small for larger fish
- Mesh material is not specified in the listing
Performance notes
The aluminum frame keeps swing weight low, and the retractable shaft is the main mechanical feature, letting the net shrink for transport and extend for use. With the frame this light, the net is easy to handle one-handed while playing a fish with the other.
