Overview
GOODCAT's square-extend fishing net has an aluminum frame, extends to a stated length of 24.6 inches, and weighs 11.2 ounces, listed for fly fishing technique.
An extendable, lightweight aluminum-frame net like this is built to be carried on the belt or vest and pulled out to length when a fish needs netting, rather than stored fully extended. The square hoop shape is common on fly fishing nets for landing fish close to the body.
- Extend-to-24.6 inch aluminum net
- 11.2 ounce weight
- Square hoop design
- Listed for fly fishing
Who it's for
Fly anglers who want a compact, extendable net that packs small until needed rather than a fixed-length landing net.
Pros and cons
- Extends to 24.6 inches, compact when collapsed
- Lightweight aluminum frame at 11.2 ounces
- Square hoop suited to close-quarters landing
- No stated hoop or bag size for larger fish
Performance notes
Aluminum keeps the frame light at 11.2 ounces while the extending handle lets the net collapse for carry and stretch out to 24.6 inches when landing a fish, a common tradeoff for wade fishing where a bulky fixed net gets in the way.
