Overview
Tuning across a wide range, this snare uses a hybrid shell of maple and poplar in a painted transparent midnight black finish. The listing describes a warm crack with good feel.
The wide tuning range lets a player move from fatter to tighter sounds on one drum. Hardware and a case are not listed, so factor in a stand.
Who it's for
Kit drummers wanting a flexible main snare get a standard size with a lifetime warranty. Buyers wanting a bundle, or a very shallow drum, should look at other options.
Pros and cons
- Wide tuning range
- Maple and poplar hybrid shell
- Limited lifetime warranty
- Lighter than a deep snare
- Snare only, no hardware
- Lug and hoop details not listed
- Dimension data looks like boxed size
Performance notes
The hybrid shell blends the attack of maple with warmth from poplar, and tuning moves the pitch across a wide range. Standard depth gives a lively response without the weight of a deep drum.
