Overview
A video shoot, a design studio or a gaming setup with huge files is where this PNY drive earns its place. It plugs straight into USB-C phones, tablets and computers, moves data at SSD-like speeds, and a sliding cap covers the connector in a pocket.
Portable SSD speed in a thumb drive shape means large video files move in moments. Speeds drop on older ports, and computers with only USB-A need an adapter.
Who it's for
Videographers, designers and gamers with modern USB-C devices get fast transfers without cables. Owners of Lightning iPhones or older laptops will not get the benefit.
Pros and cons
- Very fast read and write
- Works with phones without an app
- Metal body with sliding cap
- Backward compatible with older USB
- No USB-A connector
- Full speed needs USB 3.2 Gen 2
- Thick phone cases may block it
- Encryption not mentioned
Performance notes
Transfer speed depends on the host port, with the rated figures reached only on the newest USB generation. Older ports still work but run slower. Usable capacity is a little below the label because some space is used for formatting.
