Overview
Purina's Tidy Cats LightWeight 24/7 Performance litter trades the weight of traditional clay for a zeolite base, packed into a 6 pound jug rated 99.9 percent dust free for multi-cat homes.
The lightweight branding refers to the jug weighing less per volume than traditional clay litters, which Purina positions as easier to carry and pour, while the 24/7 Performance line focuses on ongoing odor control rather than a single masking scent. Purina backs the ammonia control claim with a stated policy that its Tidy Lock with Ammonia Blocker prevents ammonia odor for two weeks, with a process to request a refund if that does not hold up.
- 6 pound jug, zeolite material
- Clumping, scented formula
- 99.9 percent dust free
- Tidy Lock Ammonia Blocker, two-week odor control claim
Who it's for
Multi-cat households wanting a lighter-weight clumping litter with a stated ammonia-control window fit this product well. Owners who need a fully unscented litter for scent-sensitive cats should look elsewhere, since this is scented.
Pros and cons
- Zeolite formula keeps the jug lighter than clay
- 99.9 percent dust free rating
- Backed by a two-week ammonia odor control claim
- Scented only, no unscented option available
- 6 pound jug is small for multi-cat homes
Performance notes
Zeolite is the base material here rather than traditional clay, which is part of what keeps the jug lighter for a given volume while still clumping for scooping. The dust-free claim of 99.9 percent matters for households where airborne litter dust is a concern, and the ammonia blocker is specifically called out with a two-week performance window rather than an open-ended claim.
