Overview
A clumping clay cat litter from Purina's Tidy Cats LightWeight line, built for multi-cat households and sold in a 17 pound box. It's formulated to be 99.9 percent dust free and includes scent for odor control.
LightWeight in the name refers to Purina's reformulated, lower-density clay, meaning a given box covers more scooping cycles than an equivalent weight of traditional clay, without the box itself being much lighter to lift than the number implies. The dust reduction and 24/7 odor control claims are specific enough to be checked at the litter box rather than vague marketing language.
- 17 pound box
- Clumping clay formula
- 99.9% dust free
- Multi-cat, scented odor control
Who it's for
Suits multi-cat households wanting a clumping, scented litter with lower dust than traditional clay. Owners sensitive to dust or with respiratory concerns may still want to check dust levels in person given how variable such claims can be in practice.
Pros and cons
- Formulated for multi-cat households
- 99.9 percent dust free per the label
- Clumping clay for easy scooping
- Scented for odor control
- Scented formula won't suit cats or owners who prefer unscented litter
- Clay litter is heavier to dispose of than crystal or plant-based alternatives
Performance notes
The lightweight clay formulation clumps on contact with moisture the same way standard clumping clay does, but at a reduced density, and the dust reduction comes from how the clay particles are processed during manufacturing.
