Overview
Hardwood gym floors are where the Spalding Legacy belongs, as an indoor game ball in the NJCAA colorway. A composite cover wraps nylon windings around a butyl bladder that holds the air.
A composite cover over a wound butyl bladder is the build of a game ball, and the NJCAA colorway ties it to junior college play. The listing says nothing about grip channels, moisture handling or outdoor use, so treat it as an indoor ball only.
Who it's for
Suited to gym practice and league games on wood floors, where a composite cover works as designed. Players who mostly shoot outdoors, or kids who need a smaller ball, should look at another model.
Pros and cons
- Composite cover for indoor play
- Nylon windings under the cover
- Butyl bladder for air retention
- Covered by a one year warranty
- Outdoor durability not listed
- Adult size only
- Little detail on grip or feel
Performance notes
Grip indoors comes from the composite cover against dry hands, and the wound nylon layer over a butyl bladder helps the ball hold a consistent shape and bounce. Rough outdoor surfaces wear any composite cover faster, which is why this one belongs on wood.
