Overview
Supersoft is Callaway's low-compression, soft-feel golf ball, built around a HyperElastic SoftFast core and a hybrid cover meant to add greenside spin without giving up tee-to-green distance.
This is Callaway's answer to golfers who want distance but find firmer balls uncomfortable to strike. The 2023 Supersoft keeps the low-compression formula that made the model a longtime seller, pairing a fast core with a cover built specifically for wedge and putter feel rather than driver spin.
- HyperElastic SoftFast core
- Hybrid cover construction
- Built for soft feel
- Standard golf ball category
Who it's for
Golfers with moderate to slower swing speeds who want a soft feel at impact along with distance. Less suited to faster swing speed players chasing tour-level driver spin control.
Pros and cons
- Low compression suits moderate swing speeds
- Hybrid cover adds greenside spin
- Soft feel without giving up distance
- Not aimed at fast swing speed players
- No stated compression rating in the data
Performance notes
The HyperElastic SoftFast core is a low-compression design, meaning it deforms easily at impact to generate ball speed even from moderate swing speeds, which is where soft balls typically gain distance. The hybrid cover is built to behave differently depending on the shot: firmer through the bag for speed, softer and grippier near the green for wedge control and putting feel.
