GCI Outdoor Stowaway Rocker Camping Chair

Overview

The Stowaway Rocker is GCI Outdoor's portable take on a rocking chair, built to fold flat and travel to camp, the sideline or the hunting blind. Spring-Action Rocking Technology lets it rock on grass, dirt or gravel without a curved base. Rated to 250 lbs, finished in stealth camo.

Most folding camp seats only fold; this one also rocks, using a spring hinge under the seat instead of the curved runners a porch rocker needs, so it works on uneven ground where a traditional rocker would tip. GCI has built outdoor furniture since 1996, and the Stowaway line is built around that fold-flat, carry-anywhere idea rather than backyard permanence.

• Spring-Action Rocking Technology for motion on uneven surfaces
• 250 lb weight capacity
• Folds flat for transport
• Stealth camo finish

Who it's for

Suits campers, tailgaters and hunters who want to sit and rock rather than just sit, especially anyone who wants a camo finish for a blind or sideline setup. Less suited to households wanting a single chair for two people or loads over 250 lbs.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

The Spring-Action Rocking Technology sits under the seat rather than relying on curved rocker legs, so the chair rocks on grass, packed dirt or gravel instead of only a flat porch floor. Padded armrests cushion the frame contact points during longer sits, and the whole unit folds for carrying between the truck and the campsite.
