Overview
Single-ingredient freeze-dried smelt treats for dogs, made in the USA from human-grade fish with nothing added, sold in a 2.1 ounce bag.
PureBites markets this as a one-ingredient treat: just freeze-dried smelt with no fillers, grains, or preservatives on the label. That simplicity is the draw for dogs on limited-ingredient diets or with sensitivities, though the small 2.1 ounce bag means frequent repurchase for daily training use.
- One ingredient: freeze-dried smelt
- Made in the USA
- Chunk form treat
- Suitable for all life stages
Who it's for
Owners of dogs with sensitive stomachs, picky appetites, or dogs in training who want a high-value, single-ingredient reward. Not ideal as a primary food or for anyone wanting a large bulk bag.
Pros and cons
- Single ingredient, no fillers or additives
- Suited to training, appetite stimulation and sensitive stomachs
- Small 2.1 oz bag for the price
- Fish-based, so not suited to dogs with fish allergies
Performance notes
Freeze-drying removes moisture while preserving the raw fish's protein and natural smell, which is part of why it's positioned for stimulating appetite in picky eaters. Because it's a single ingredient with no additives, it also works as a limited-ingredient option for elimination diets.
