Overview
A laptop user who is short on space gets a small storage add-on that barely sticks out of the port. The SanDisk Ultra Fit plugs into a USB Type-A socket and can stay there, and the bundle adds a lanyard for carrying or labeling it.
The low profile shape lets it remain in a laptop or car stereo port without snagging in a bag. Modest capacity and no stated write speed make it a poor match for large video projects or full system backups.
Who it's for
Classrooms, offices and travelers storing documents, slides and photos will find it easy to live with. Video creators and anyone archiving whole drives will run out of room quickly.
Pros and cons
- Low profile can stay plugged in
- Backward compatible with USB 2.0
- Lanyard included for carrying
- Plug and play, no software
- Write speed not listed
- Modest capacity for video
- Small size is easy to misplace
- Type-A only, no USB-C plug
Performance notes
Transfer speed depends on the host port: the listed read speed needs a current generation USB socket, and an older USB port drops it to that slower standard. Writes on small flash drives usually trail reads, and the listing does not state the write figure.
