Overview
Plugging this SanDisk Ultra Fit into a laptop, desktop or media player adds storage that stays put, since the body barely extends past the port. The Type-A drive comes in a bundle with one lanyard for carrying it.
Its strength is the stay-plugged shape combined with a fast rated read speed, useful for media libraries in a car or TV port. Write speed is not listed and the connector is Type-A only, so USB-C devices need an adapter.
Who it's for
Office workers, teachers and anyone carrying presentations or a music library will appreciate how little it protrudes. Users with only USB-C ports or frequent large file writes should choose a different drive.
Pros and cons
- Fast rated read speed
- Barely protrudes from the port
- Backward compatible with USB 2.0
- Write speed not listed
- Type-A plug only
- Tiny body is easy to lose
Performance notes
Read speed reaches its listed figure only in a current generation USB socket; in an older USB port the slower interface sets the ceiling. Small flash drives can warm up and slow during long sustained transfers, and the listing gives no write figure to judge that.
