Overview
A spinning hard disk inside a Porsche Design styled shell connects through a fast USB port in this LaCie portable drive, moving files at up to its rated speed. A USB cable comes in the box.
Design is the reason to choose it over plainer drives, paired with large capacity. The fast USB link handles everyday backup at a steady pace. The listing gives no warranty term, enclosure material or system details.
Who it's for
Design-minded laptop users storing photos and documents get large capacity in a styled case. Anyone who wants documented warranty and specs should choose a better described drive.
Pros and cons
- Designer styled enclosure
- USB 3.0 connection
- Warranty term not listed
- Sparse technical details
- Spinning disk, not flash speed
Performance notes
Transfer speed is limited by the spinning disk to the rated figure, so large files copy steadily while many small files slow down. Performance on older USB ports drops further. The drive draws power over USB.
