Helinox Chair Zero Ultralight Camping Chair

Overview

The Helinox Chair Zero is an ultralight backpacking chair that weighs 1.1 pounds and packs down to about 4 x 4 x 13.5 inches, built on a DAC aluminum alloy frame rated to hold up to 265 pounds.

Helinox built the Chair Zero around minimizing pack weight and size rather than comfort features like cup holders or storage pockets, which is why it packs smaller than a bottle of water yet still holds up to 265 pounds. A single internal bungee cord threads the aluminum poles together, so setup does not require assembling loose parts.

• 1.1 lb ultralight weight
• Packs to about 4 x 4 x 13.5 inches
• DAC aluminum alloy frame rated to 265 lbs
• Single bungee-cord pole assembly

Who it's for

Fits backpackers, bikepackers and motorcycle tourers who count grams and want a real seat at camp without adding much weight. It is not built for tall or heavier lounging, since the seat sits low and the design skips extras like armrests or storage.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

A single internal bungee cord holds the DAC aluminum alloy poles together, so setup is a matter of unfolding rather than threading loose pieces. The assembled chair measures 20W x 18D x 25H inches with a 6.5 inch seat height and 18.5 inch backrest, and the ripstop polyester seat and carry sack are machine washable.
