Overview
Throwing this LaCie drive into a camera bag or toolbox is what its shock, dust and rain resistant shell is built for. A reversible USB-C cable connects to current laptops, and an included adapter covers older USB ports.
Rugged design and high capacity make it a dependable carry drive for field backups. Expect hard drive speeds rather than flash speeds when moving large projects.
Who it's for
Photographers, surveyors and students who carry data between sites. Desk bound editors should use a fast SSD or desktop RAID.
Pros and cons
- Shock, dust and rain resistant
- Reversible USB-C cable
- Works with Mac and PC
- Listed for PlayStation
- Hard disk speed
- Bulkier than slim drives
- Plastic enclosure listed
Performance notes
Read speed is capped by the spinning disk well below the USB-C link limit. The protective shell absorbs knocks during transport, though the drive is safest still while running. USB-C bus power means one cable in the field.
