Overview
Two 128GB PNY Turbo Attache 3 drives in one pack, built as USB 3.0 mobile storage for moving movies, photos, music and documents between PC and Mac machines with USB 3.0 ports.
This is a bulk buy rather than a single premium drive: two identical 128GB sticks, so one can live on a keychain and the other stay in a drawer as backup. The sliding collar swaps a removable cap for a mechanism that will not get lost, and the USB 3.0 speed rating only applies fully on a USB 3.0 port, since older ports fall back to USB 2.0 rates.
- 128GB per drive, two included
- USB 3.0 with USB 2.0 backward compatibility
- Cap-less sliding collar design
- Compatible with PC and Mac
Who it's for
Anyone who wants redundant everyday storage for transferring large files rather than one specialty archival drive. Suits people moving between a work PC and a home Mac. Not aimed at buyers who need heavy-duty water or crush protection.
Pros and cons
- Two drives at 128GB for backup redundancy
- Sliding collar has no cap to lose
- Works on PC and Mac with USB 3.0 ports
- Falls back to USB 2.0 ports without issue
- Full speed needs a USB 3.0 port on the host
- No rugged or waterproof rating listed
Performance notes
Rated transfer speeds run up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0, but that ceiling only applies when both the drive and the host port are USB 3.0. Plugged into an older USB 2.0 port, the drive still works, just at USB 2.0 speed. The cap-less sliding collar design leaves no small cap to misplace.
