Overview
A living room console setup or a gamer who travels with a library gets six terabytes of portable storage from this WD_BLACK drive. It connects to a PlayStation or PC by USB and holds old favorites alongside new titles.
Lots of space in a portable shell means no deleting old games to make room for new ones. A spinning hard drive transfers far slower than flash storage, so copying games takes time.
Who it's for
Console and PC players with large libraries. Creators moving big files often will want faster flash storage.
Pros and cons
- Very large capacity
- Portable form factor
- Works with PlayStation and PC
- Three-year limited warranty
- Slower than an SSD
- Micro-B cable, not USB-C
Performance notes
A spinning platter limits transfer speed, so moving large games takes longer than with flash storage. It has moving parts, so it is safest left still while running.
